Inspired by vintage designs and a nostalgia for the California of past decades, Dôen is a creative collective that celebrates women. Their beautiful, small-batch online boutique has a cult following that spans the globe. Timeless, flattering, and easy silhouettes in earthy and neutral tones have me chomping at the bit to get my hands on and body into their Fall 2017 collection. Flowing, peasant-style blouses and dresses, along with chunky knits that will become heirloom pieces, all paired with Dôen’s minimal yet expertly crafted Mary Jane Slipper flat and my own favorite wool fedora are all I want to be wearing this fall season. 

My three most coveted pieces are the Hermione Sweater in Tabac that would be my go-to cardigan all through the colder seasons, the Plumeria Dress in 100% cotton voile—one of my most favorite fabrics—and the Magpie Sweater in Dark Tabac whose vintage-inspired ruffled collar just sends me over the moon. I would truly love to have every single item in their shop, and lucky for me they have a “Back in Stock Alert” option for their highly sought-after and scooped-up pieces!  

Dôen’s lifestyle brand features real women who wear their clothes and serve as an inspiration to a larger community. At the helm of their collective is the desire and commitment to directly and actively support women in all aspects of their production, and to decrease the gender gap in the supply chain. Each season Dôen offers a unique children’s style whose profits support a partnering organization, Room to Read. Dôen is a beautifully and thoughtfully designed line, with a socially conscious eye on their business practices. All good things I can get behind and get myself into. Win win!
