We’ve just about finished our latest round of Zip-Top Medium Totes, and all that’s left to do is package them up and send them out to their new owners around the world. We strive to apply the same level of care and quality to our packaging as we do to every other aspect of our bags, ensuring its safe travels while also honoring the dedicated work that’s gone into its creation. A member of our artisan team like Emily or Anna thoughtfully inspects each piece for potential imperfections as a final “test” to confirm that no errors have been made and no marks are present on the leather. Then, they begin the steps to stuff, wrap, and protect it for the journey ahead.
Once they’re sure that everything is perfect, they write out a hangtag and registration card to include in the bag as part of our lifetime guarantee. The whole bag gets shined with our leather elixir to condition it and help protect against superficial damage—looking really gorgeous is just an added bonus! Elixired and tagged, these totes are stuffed to preserve their shape and prevent collapse during shipping, while the handles are wrapped so they won’t bend. Like our bags, we’ve always wanted the packaging we use to be locally made and of the highest quality, but never ostentatious or overdone—so we domestically source our elegant cordovan-hued gift boxes and letterpress stationery to add that special final touch.
Just before being sent out into the world, a note is handwritten on this stationery and included with each package, thanking its new owner for supporting our passion and wishing them many happy adventures with their bag.
