BDDW is a small American furniture company whose founder and designer Tyler Hays offers a veritable cornucopia of items from large-scale pieces of furniture like seating, sofas, and sideboards to smaller designs like his Turntable collection and Nixie Desk Clock. For Lotuff’s summer photo shoot in Jamestown, Rhode Island, our creatives had the pleasure of using some such furniture as their background and props.

Featured in our most recent editorial is BDDW’s Ping Pong Table, which will make you want to take up this sport in haste just to have one of these beauties for yourself. The table is available in three luxurious finishes and adorned with a removable leather net secured with cast-bronze arms. As if all this didn’t already have you salivating, the leather net also comes in two different finishes, both of them lustrous and beautiful. And yes, you read that right...a leather net. Be so still, our hearts. This Ping Pong Table takes recreation to a whole new level of style. I love when designers make something that you never knew you needed, but once having laid eyes upon it, you feel changed and all the better for it. Objects this beautiful have the wonderful ability to invoke a particular type of thrill, much like a stunning sunset or majestic vista.

Hays additionally has a brick and mortar store called M. Crow that serves as a type of design playground for all of his hobbies and interests. The sleek, artisanal quality with which he makes his furniture is imparted upon all types of items like bronze and wood clothing hangers, steak knives, hand-painted cutting boards, and ceramic wares. Hays offers clothing through M. Crow, too, as well as a whole other collection he has designed called Bury Your Dead Downwind. Check out BYDDW’s Instagram for a fuller representation of the line. This man seems to have talent oozing out of his pores, and luckily for the rest of us, we get to be the recipients.
