Having grown up within the fashion empire of her parent’s clothing line, Nice Things, Paloma Lanna was no novice to the fashion industry when in 2014 she launched her own line, Paloma Wool. Her designs are put forth as limited-edition capsule collections, rather than seasonal collections, staying true to her belief in minimal consumption and sustainable production.

Paloma approaches her creations more as art projects, rather than a linear clothing line. Along with her wearable items, she also showcases photography and art installations, some of which all fall under the same project. She has described Paloma Wool as a multi-disciplinary fashion undertaking, and an excuse to do all the artistic things surrounding it.

Inspired by the colors and textures of her Catalonian home, the colors she uses in her designs are muted earthy shades, greens, and teals that are all found in nature. The simple color palette is one of the things Kate loves the most about Paloma Wool. For her, they harken back to vintage shades of avocado and clay and rust, and are further enhanced by the minimal, no-fuss designs that hold the line beautifully between workwear and femininity—always producing the most lovely silhouettes.

A kaleidoscope of female forms are recognized in Paloma’s work, with her campaigns portraying a diverse female crowd and a celebration of the variations within. Her designs intuitively understand the female form, lying comfortably over the curvatures, yet never sacrificing the elegance and refinement of a proper fit.
