There are many things with which to be obsessed when it comes to Brother Vellies. We recently featured the chic and stunning collab between Brother Vellies and Ace & Jig—be still, all of our fabric-loving hearts. Since then, I just can’t stop thinking about the Curly Goat Lamu Sandal that graces their collection.

This signature cross-front sandal is inspired by the footwear found on Lamu Island in Kenya, home to one of the oldest Swahili towns. Accessible only by boat and navigated on land by donkeys, Lamu offers a step back in time to the quietest of seaside dwellings. (Another obsession for another time!) It is here in this idyllic and quiet town that Aurora James, creative director and founder of Brother Vellies, found inspiration for her sandal.

Available in Honey Country, Marabou, and Curly Goat, there’s a whimsy to all that strike a chord with the playful among us. The pair that invades my dreams and has me saving my pennies are in Melon, and are, quite frankly, the most perfect sandal ever made: chic yet unpretentious, in a variety of colors that are flattering to all skin tones.

Whether I'm wearing sandals fashioned out of marabou or goat, Brother Vellies sustainable footwear is tippity top on my list of loves.
